Creativity

Creativity

I think that before the course I was already quite creative within my work and ideas, although I knew this could be developed throughout the course. While producing my work, I tried to make sure I was being as creative as possible and using my own ideas while still being conventional, rather than being cliché. In my college magazine task, I don’t think I was very creative because I had not looked at many existing magazines that I could use as inspiration so the front cover was basic and looked very similar to other peoples because the generic front cover image was a person holding books and folders, I do think I could have thought of a more original idea when planning my front cover image.  Due to this, it didn’t make it very creative and also the stories I featured where not very creative either as I struggled to find feature stories relating to college. I feel as though this developed throughout the duration of the course as I kept creativity in my mind to add this to my final product. I thought I improved my creativity skills as I researched existing magazines of my genre, rock, to use as inspiration so I could target the magazine at the correct audience. I also used all my own ideas like the plug and features and I used different websites, like dafont to create my fonts so I had a wide range of different font styles and colours, which made it look more appealing and also added creativity. Also, to add more creativity, I added photos relating to my feature stories on my front cover, which also made it conventional. Although I did struggle a bit with the college magazine for creativity, by comparing that magazine to my music magazine, you can clearly see the development I have made in regards to what I have changed and what I have included to make it more creative.
