- When filming the shot of the pair taking a picture, I had trouble panning around them because firstly you could see the bags we took in one of the shots and also you could see my shadow in both of them. You can see this in the video below:
- When we went to the pier, it was really cold so the actor/artist and actress were really cold and this made it harder to film because you could tell a little bit when I was shooting the shots.
- On the pier, there were some shots where they had to hug and they felt a little bit awkward about doing this.
How did we overcome these problems:
- I decided to do this shot later on in the day at the other location because I knew that the sun would not be shining right on us. We did this and it proved successful.
- To keep them warm I made sure they kept wrapping up in between shots so they weren't so cold. This worked a little bit although it was still a bit chilly. Also, I re-shot some of the shots where I thought it was obvious they were too cold.
- Even though they felt awkward, they put this past them and they were really professional. I am happy because if they had looked really uncomfortable, the shots would have looked really unrealistic.
Overall, I am really happy with the shoot and think that planning well in advance has helped a lot. I am hoping that all of my shots prove successful so we don't have to go re-shoot but if this is the case I will re-shoot as soon as possible. After doing these shots, I have around 10 more quick shots to film before my music video is fully finished.
